From his early days working from the studios of an aloof Swifty, Mitch has stamped his unique style all over the last eight years. His artworking hands have splashed their presence over record covers, flyers, magazines, books and exhibitions to make him one of the hardest working bwoy's in London town

Steal-Life - You began your days working with Swifty, how much of an influence has that time been on your current work? Mitch - I've loved Swift's stuff for years. I found an extended family when I moved to London & worked out of Swift's studio. I learned more tricks there than anywhere and at high speed. It gave me time to develop nuff styles and techniques and working alongside Swift, Fred Deakin, Robbie Bear & Mode 2 was the most inspiring experience.

SL - Describe your style
M - Ham, spam, chicken and lamb, a cup of tea twice, a slice of that nice cake & if you haven't got that I'll have a slimfast.

SL - Is that description always the same, or does it change?
M - Always different.

SL - A lot of your work has been in music, how's that influenced you?
M - All my work is square! Music is my life, music is my sanctuary …still knocking out the record covers. It's nice to be doing work for video sets & clothing labels too.

SL - What's currently on your stereo?
M - Today: The Banana Splits (not for long), Jazzanova's new LP, DJ Format LP, Blaktronica Mix CD, Amp Fiddler's Love & War EP, Joel Harrision's soulscience mix CD 2 and playing right now - In Like Flint soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith.

SL - Vinyl or CD?
M - shoes or sandals?

SL - Sun or rain!? Which reminds me (geography teacher), you've gone back to lecture at universities, how did you find it?
M - "too many MC's not enough mikes" - a few of the students are excellent, some just copy stuff… there's just no decent jobs for em all.

SL - What do you want to achieve going forward?
M - my website's been on the job list for bloody ages! I really need to sort that out - then more shows, products, music etc.

SL - Do you ever want to give it all up?
M - not since the doctor gave me those new pills...

God loves the shaven headed and blingin ringed.
